Presenter’s profile:
Dr. Melody Yi is a School Psychologist with over 17 years of experience supporting students from early childhood through young adulthood in areas including academics, behavior, and mental health. She earned her doctorate from Chapman University, with research conducted at UC Irvine's Department of Pediatrics. Currently serving at Monta Vista High School, she also teaches at Stanford University during the summer.

Join us for an engaging parent education session with Dr. Melody Yi, Monta Vista High School Psychologist, who works closely with our students and understands the real challenges they face today.
In this interactive session, Dr. Yi will share practical strategies to help parents better connect with their teens and support their emotional resilience. Drawing from real experiences with students and families, she will help parents understand the “why” behind teen behaviors and how to respond in more effective, supportive ways.
Topics include:
- Understanding teen behavior and emotional needs
- Building stronger parent-child connections
- Introduction to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and how to support healing
- Breaking unhelpful cycles and developing mindful parenting strategies
The session will include interactive polls, discussion, and time for Q&A.
