Is your teen getting the sleep he or she needs? Join us as Kate Kaplan, PhD discusses sleep in adolescence and factors interfering with adequate sleep in teens. Dr. Kaplan will discuss biological processes that help humans fall asleep and stay asleep across the night, and how we can use this understanding of biology to improve the sleep of our nation’s teenagers.
Dr. Kate Kaplan has spent the last dozen years researching healthy human sleep and sleep disorders in adolescents and adults. Currently a fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at Stanford University, Dr. Kaplan received her doctorate in Clinical Science from the University of California, Berkeley and her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Psychology from Stanford University. Her research interests include treatment of insomnia and hypersomnia, improving sleep across the lifespan, and understanding basic physiological processes in sleep regulation.
