In this course, RACECAR (Rapid Autonomous Complex Environment Competing Ackermann steering), students programmed small robotic cars to autonomously navigate a racetrack. |

Through the analysis of data sets in GeneLab’s Data System, high school students will learn about organismal physiology in space and will gain complex and critical bioinformatics skills, which they will then be able to utilize to propose a hypothesis driven research project to the Space Biology Office. Each lesson is tied to its practical application, by giving students reporting assignments on campus and in the city. The CSPA Workshop is the longest-running and most successful high school journalism workshop in the country. Our graduates have gone on to work for the Los Angeles Times, the Orange County Register, Forbes, The Associated Press, ESPN, CBS, Fox and other nationally recognized media outlets. JCamp brings a multicultural group of high school students together for six days of intensive journalism training. Students with a strong interest in broadcasting, newspapers, magazines, photojournalism or online media are encouraged to apply. The Summer Health Institute @ ASU will provide students who have completed their junior year of high school the opportunity to live on the ASU Downtown campus for a week while experiencing a variety of inter-professional health related activities including 3 hours of daily simulation at the ASU Simulation Center as well as the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix campus (suturing, IV’s, intubation, scrubbing, etc.), interactions with members of the health care team, and tours of health care facilities located within the health corridor of Arizona. |

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, NSLI-Y offers merit-based scholarships to study one of seven critical foreign languages: Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Korean, Persian (Tajiki), Russian, and Turkish. The NSLI-Y program is designed to immerse participants in the cultural life of the host country, provide formal and informal language practice, and spark a lifetime interest in foreign languages and cultures. We provide extraordinary opportunities for youth to design and lead projects in collaboration with US and Latin American peers and partner organizations across the Americas. Our strong partner network, built over 50 years, enables authentic engagements in communities across the region. The AMIGOS Silicon Valley Chapter recruits, trains, and supports AMIGOS participants and their families from the South Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area. Our chapter accepts participants August 11 through November 1 of the fall prior to each summer experience. During the months of October through May, Silicon Valley Chapter participants will take part in local training and fundraising events as they prepare for their AMIGOS experience. |
