- Engage with teachers, administrators, and school staff to understand staff needs and challenges.
- Share student perspectives during school-related discussions and planning sessions.
- Collaborate on projects that bridge the student-staff gap and enhance the school environment.
- Act as a liaison to address student-staff communication gaps and foster mutual understanding
3. Research and Insights
Role Overview: Drive informed decision-making by conducting surveys and gathering insights to shape PTSA initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Design surveys and polls to collect feedback from students and teachers on various topics.
- Analyze data to identify trends, preferences, and areas for potential improvements.
- Present research findings to the PTSA team and propose actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with other Student Representatives to integrate research insights into their roles.
4. Marketing and Member Engagement
Role Overview: Enhance communication and engagement within the school community through various marketing channels.
Responsibilities:
- Create and curate engaging content for newsletters, social media, and the PTSA website.
- Design visually appealing newsletters, web pages, banners, and other marketing materials.
- Maintain a consistent posting schedule on social media and ensure timely delivery of content.
- Track and analyze engagement metrics for newsletters, social media, and the website to guide future strategies.
Application Process
The PTSA Student Representative Committee offers a fair and transparent application process, ensuring that all Monta Vista High School students have an equal opportunity to apply. Here’s how it works:
- Eligibility: All students at Monta Vista High School are welcome to apply for a position on the PTSA Student Representative Committee at the beginning of the school year.
- Application: Interested students must complete the online application form when we're hiring.
- Review Process: Once the application form is submitted, it will be reviewed by a PTSA board member.
- Interviews: Selected candidates will be invited for an interview to further assess their suitability for the role.

Selection Criteria:
Decisions will be based on the following:
- Past Experience: Relevant experience that aligns with the responsibilities of the position.
- Interview Performance: How well the candidate presents themselves during the interview.
- Position Availability: The current vacancies and needs within the committee.
Term Limits
- Students may serve in the same position for a maximum of two years.
- Each term lasts for one year.
- Returning officers are given priority to continue in their role for a second term, provided they have performed well and wish to continue.
