What is Job Shadow Day?

An excellent opportunity to explore a career by observing and interacting with professionals in the work place, brought to you by the Monta Vista PTSA and Career Center.  The next Job Shadow Day will be in the Spring of 2019.

​Job Shadow Day is an exciting day for both students and employers, tentatively scheduled for the beginning of March.  Students spend part of the day in the workplace "shadowing" employees through a normal day on the job. Students engage in early career exploration that leads to better-informed career (and post-high school) choices.  Employers have the opportunity to present industry trends and career options to potential future employees. 

Benefits of Job Shadow to a Student

• Get a first-hand, insider's look into a job - the academic skills and experience required, responsibilities, tasks, benefits, challenges, and what makes it exciting.
• Determine if the job is something you want to pursue in the future.
• See the connection between classroom learning, work, and achieving goals.
