Monta Vista High School and the Monta Vista PTSA are proud to present
Julie Lythcott-Haims
March 7, 2015
Monta Vista Auditorium
Presentation to Parents Only 7:00-8:00 p.m.
Julie Lythcott-Haims is a former Freshmen Dean at Stanford University and
author of her New York Times best-selling book
How to Raise an Adult:
Break Free of the Overparenting Trap and Prepare Your Kids for Success.
Julie spent a decade as Stanford University's Dean of Freshman where she was known for both her fierce advocacy for students and her equally fierce critique of the growing trend of parental involvement in the day-to-day lives of college students.
Monta Vista High School and the PTSA feel her message is so important we asked Julie to speak to all levels of our community – students, teacher and parents. Julie will first talk with an auditorium full of students during school hours. Later, that day, Julie will speak with many of the teachers and staff at the school. Finally at 7 p.m. Julie will speak to the parents. Julie will share her studies and experience about what happens when we want to help our children so much that it can back-fire.
The evening presentation is for parents only.
Seating will be first-come, first-serve – so please arrive early!
