2018 Unsung Hero Award went to Aditya Pimplaskar while the PTSA Service Scholarship was awarded to Tiffany Tsang. Congratulations to these two students!
Unsung Hero AwardThe "Unsung Hero" Award is given to the unlauded, unrecognized individual who quietly makes a difference. This individual does acts of kindness towards those in need or in pain (physical, emotional or psychological). This individual goes above and beyond the definition of his/her role with no expectation of pay, praise or recognition. Let's honor these people and raise them high to serve as beacons and sources of inspiration.
Monta Vista's PTSA (Parent-Teacher-Student Association) will award a $1000 scholarship to the deserving individual. The winner will be honored during Senior Awards Night and will not be informed until the sealed envelope is opened.

PTSA Service ScholarshipsIf you have been active at school and/or in the community, you may be eligible for the Monta Vista PTSA Service Scholarship. Every year, the PTSA selects one senior who has volunteered his or her time and energy to the school and the community, and awards the student a scholarship.

Barbara Emerich PTSA Scholarship
Barbara Emerich, a PTA volunteer and leader for over 50 years,continues to dedicate her time and talents in support of children, particularly in the areas of juvenile
justice, gun control, teen health and special needs. This scholarship was created to honor her exemplary
service.
Two scholarships of $750.00 each are available to support students who are planning to attend a 2- or 4-
year college.
