Comments from attendees....
A Monta Vista Freshman said this about one of the engineering presentations, “I not only got info about the specific career but the speaker answered my questions and was funny, made his topics relatable, and explained everything thoroughly.”
Explore Careers is attended by students at all levels of high school; the following comment regarding a biotechnology presentation is from a junior: “ He was very clear and elaborated on the exhaustive spectrum of his chosen career. He answered all questions very lucidly and he would be a great person to come again!”
Students found presenters to be very relatable and engaging; one student said, “He was very real with us."
Though this event is mainly focused on student attendees, a Monta Vista parent made this comment about a presenter, ”Really liked the speaker! Also, liked how we broke into groups to act out a task that someone in that field would be doing. It gave a good feel for the flavor of the career.”
Presenters were passionate about their fields, “He gave students a clear picture of the different areas in which mechanical engineers are involved… skills they need and basic need of being passionate about learning."
Another parent said, “This was a really excellent speaker. Got the kids thinking differently, and did an activity, and really kept everyone’s attention. Excellent thought provoking ideas. Every kid should get to hear his talk."
